This colourful stained glass suncatcher is part of my Retro Collection, inspired by the bold florals, curved shapes and wonderfully unapologetic colour combinations of 1970s design.
A bright yellow and orange flower sits amongst layers of fresh greens and vibrant turquoise, all wrapped up in the collection’s distinctive pill-shaped design. I love how the strong black solder lines frame each colour and give the whole piece that bold, graphic retro feel.
But the real magic happens when the sunlight hits it. ✨ The different colours and textures of glass cast beautiful patches of refracted light into the room, shifting and changing throughout the day as the sun moves.
Each piece is handmade by me in my Aberdeen studio using the traditional Tiffany copper foil method. Every individual piece of glass is cut, shaped, foiled and soldered by hand.
